PCAM Wings over Wine Country |
The SCRA established its Special Event "shack" at the Pacific Coast Air Museum 2010 air show. We provided ham radio and Club literature to the public as well as having having loud speakers for the Air Boss and airport information frequencies from the Icm 8500 communications receiver. We established our special event station, K6J, with an Icom 746Pro and Brian N6IIY's 20 meter loop antenna. Unfortunately, band conditions were poor, to say the least, and there were few contacts. Our furthest contact was Hawaii during a band opening on Sunday morning.
The Toaster was used for transportation and storage of equipment. The Air Show is always a fun event, and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Brian, N6IIY, Waldon, W6NGD, Darryl, KI6MSP, Jim, KI6REK, Dave Santori, KF6CLG, Dave Harrison, W6IBC, Ed Slingmand, N2WD, Greg, K6SRO, John, KE5RI, Donald, WE4MOO, and Sutter, KI6ZON, for providing equipment and staffing of our "shack."
